  1. Texas General Land Office: Mitigation Stakeholder Input Session

    The Texas General Land Office (GLO) will draft a HUD-required action plan that describes the types of programs for which those funds will be used. The GLO requests that attendees to the stakeholder input session come prepared to discuss the following: 1) The natural hazards and disasters faced by their communities in the past and expect to face in the future. 2) The administrative capacity to identify and/or implement natural hazard mitigation projects, including the project funding application process, compliance with regulations, and procurement of vendor services to realize projects. 3) Mitigation strategies already in place to address natural hazards/disasters that impact physical infrastructure, housing near or within flood risk areas, emergency readiness, and community outreach/education about preparedness. 4) Desired mitigation projects/programs that are needed but currently lack a funding source to address identified natural hazard/disaster risks.

In 2007, the United Nations declared April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day; the theme for 2019 is “Assistive Technologies, Active Participation.” Affordable assistive technologies are a prerequisite to full inclusion for many people with autism.
